About us

NexLegal’s culture reflects the ideals of our team, and we remain committed to providing first level
services to our clients.

NexLegal’s partners have more than 10 years of professional practice each, having been part of the top tier law firms in Chile and abroad, where they have been trained with the highest standard of labor practices.

OUR PEOPLE

History

Our office was founded in 2019 by Rodrigo Jeria and Jose Tomas Ureta under the name Jeria y Ureta Abogados, to later transform, in 2021, into Abuid Jeria & Ureta Abogados.

Then, with the incorporation of Ernesto Eckholt in 2022, we accelerated the modernization process that had been developing for our corporate image to the culture and way of working that characterizes us, as well as to the new times and a constantly evolving market. This is how NexLegal is born in 2023.

With constant growth in our client base and the development of complementary practice areas to provide a comprehensive service, we have been consolidating ourselves as a reference office for matters that fall within our specialty areas.

Culture

We built our office with a
clear focus on people, prioritizing serving our clients with the agility and flexibility demanded by today’s market.

Relationships with our clients are at the core of our business, and maintaining the highest level of trust and communication is imperative. We seek long-term professional associations, and our client’s continued trust in us indicates our success.

We perfectly understand the needs of each client and offer an innovative work perspective. Thanks to this, we generate trusting relationships that allow us to provide clear, personalized, and innovative advice.

With our experience, support technology, and collaborative work, we achieve an efficient work system and a high-quality result.

This culture and approach have shaped NexLegal, being why we have stood out in the market and will allow us a continuous growth in the future.

Diversity & Inclusion

Our recruitment and career development process are transparent, objective, and inclusive, based solely on professional capabilities, focused on hiring, retaining, and promoting lawyers, attorneys, and paralegals, regardless of their background, race, gender, orientation, or beliefs.

These commitment benefit our team and are essential to offer new and innovative solutions. We are convinced that it is in the best interest of NexLegal, and the clients we serve, that our team reflects the diversity of our society.

That is why within our culture, the pursuit of gender equality and inclusion stands out. This approach is to generate a disruptive change in how legal services are usually structured in our ecosystem.

Most importantly, our diversity and inclusion efforts foster a team based on the idea that similarities and differences are part of our strengths.

We are committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive work environment where each person can excel and develop professionally.

PROBONO

Dedication to pro bono work is an essential aspect of NexLegal. We are committed to serving our community by representing pro bono clients regularly, applying our skills, resources, and innovative approach to deal with different legal matters, and making no distinction concerning the fee-paying client.

In this way, we work on many pro bono matters that promote social justice, supporting non-profit organizations and providing legal advice to those in need. Our work includes issues related to immigration, workers’ rights, incorporation and formation of non-profit entities, and family law matters, among others.

We actively encourage and support our lawyers to serve the community and volunteer their legal expertise. We reward and recognize internally the pro bono work performed.

Sustainability

We are committed to environmental sustainability. We believe that there must be shared responsibility in the community to protect the environment and achieve a more sustainable future. For this reason, we look for mechanisms to mitigate the environmental impact of our activities to reduce our footprint year by year.

To this end, we have developed new approaches limiting our primary emissions sources, such as electricity consumption, transportation, and paper use. This practice has enabled us to implement best practices to reduce waste and meet our carbon footprint goal. As part of these best practices, we minimize paper consumption and encourage recycling. We have also reduced air travel and travel in general, which allows us to reduce the impact of one of the primary sources of carbon emissions.

We seek to create internal awareness about using resources, which involves sharing experiences and designing our office infrastructure and work mechanism to promote sustainability.
